So what do you substitute for hay, grains and feed?

we already supplement with a grain-based total feed, but we can’t feed that more than about a 1/2 pound per animal per day as it can throw off the rumen chemistry/micro biome of the sheep. They can have severe nutritional consequences and even fatal bacterial die-offs or overgrowths... so we have to buy in hay.
